Botanical Garden Mushrooms Is Live

Every Tuesday I ship something. This week it is Botanical Garden Mushrooms, a new iMessage sticker pack of 25 clay-style woodland fungi.

The idea was simple: take the quiet charm of the forest floor and turn it into little characters you can drop into a conversation. Each one is a mushroom with a personality, rendered in the same soft, rounded clay look that reads well at sticker size.

The pack

Twenty-five stickers, each a different fungus going about its day. A red-capped fly agaric in round glasses inspects something with a magnifying glass. A tan mushroom plays a tiny lute with its eyes closed. Two oyster mushrooms hug, cheeks blushing. One explorer wears a satchel and carries a brass compass, ready for a hike that will probably stay within a few inches of where it started.

The art style is the rounded, slightly puffed clay look from the StickerForge pipeline. It holds up at iMessage size because nothing important gets lost in fine detail.

Why I built it

Nature themes are a soft, friendly category, and mushrooms in particular have a quiet personality that works well as characters. They are calm, a little odd, and easy to project a mood onto. That makes them perfect for reactions: a hugging pair for a kind message, a scholarly mushroom for a know-it-all moment, a lute player for when words are not enough.

How to use them

Install from the App Store. In Messages, tap the apps icon and pick Botanical Garden Mushrooms from the sticker drawer. Tap to send, drag to layer onto a message, or peel-and-stick to a photo. iOS also lets you drag stickers into Notes, Mail, and many other apps.
