Dos Palabras and Decant Are on Android
Every Tuesday I ship something. This week it is two things, and neither of them is new: Dos Palabras and Decant, both already on the App Store, are now on Google Play too.
Porting an app is less exciting than launching one, but it is a cheap way to double who can actually use something. Both of these were small, focused iPhone apps that had nothing Apple-specific at their core, so they were good first candidates.
Dos Palabras
Dos Palabras gives you two new Spanish words every day. Each one comes with its meaning, a pronunciation guide, audio you can tap to hear, and example sentences. Mark the ones that stick as learned, send the rest to the Practicar tab for flashcard review, and look back at past days in Historia.

The Android version is completely offline. It does not even request network permission, so there is nothing to track and nowhere to send it. The iPhone home screen widget has not made the trip yet.
It is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases, same as on iPhone.
Decant
Decant pulls the audio out of a video and does nothing else. Share a video to it from Google Photos, Files, or any other app, and you get an audio file back in seconds. Everything happens on your phone. Your video is never uploaded.

The Android version exports to M4A, MP3, FLAC, Opus, WAV, and AIFF, and you can preview and rename the file before you save or share it.
Pricing matches iPhone: your first 3 exports are free, then $4.99 once unlocks unlimited exports. No subscription, no ads, and no watermark.
Both apps need Android 8.0 or later.
