Ghost Cats Is Live
Every Tuesday I ship something. This week it is Ghost Cats, an iMessage sticker pack of 58 clay-style cats who have passed on and taken up haunting as a hobby. It is live on the App Store now, with plenty of runway before Halloween.
The pack
Fifty-eight stickers, which makes this the biggest pack I have shipped. Every cat is somewhere on the ghost spectrum. Some are translucent and trailing a wisp of tail. Some are fully solid and just committed to the theme: one is sitting inside a jack-o’-lantern, one is wrapped up as a mummy, one is napping in a coffin.
My favorites are the ones with a little story in them. A tabby reading a book called “9000 Ways to Haunt This House” and looking overwhelmed by the options. A tombstone that reads “Beloved Purrmanent Resident.” A cat holding up a BOO sign, in case the sheet did not make it clear.

The rest of the cast includes a tuxedo cat in a top hat, a witch with a broom, a Siamese with a crystal ball, a gargoyle, a cat bubbling in a cauldron, a ghost playing a pipe organ, and one wearing aviator goggles for reasons it has not explained. There are sleepy ones, grumpy ones, and ones that are clearly very pleased with themselves, so there is a reaction for most moods.
Why I made it
I already had goats and cozy ghosts in the catalog (Pygmy Ghosts and Cozy Ghosts), and cats are the obvious next ghost. They already ignore you, stare at empty corners, and knock things off shelves. Haunting is not a big career change.
