March 2026: Month Three

Two of the three February goals landed. The third did not.

What Happened

The goals were 60 downloads, $25 revenue, and 6 apps shipped. Downloads hit 108 and revenue hit $95.95, both well past target. Apps shipped came in at 4. That was the miss.

NetUtil was the story. 51 downloads in a month where I did nothing to promote it. It is a free app, so no revenue, but 51 is the biggest single-app month I have had. The SEO blog is the reason. The check-port-open-mac post alone had nearly 7,000 impressions last month and is sitting at average position 14 in Google. A few more spots and it hits page one. The apple-killed-network-utility post is already there at position 8. Total search impressions for the site were around 5,000 in March, up from 4,500 in February. The traffic is building slowly and the downloads are following.

SongSplit AI dropped from 30 to 15. February was the outlier. 15 is probably closer to what organic discovery looks like for a small Mac app in a quiet month.

Soundshine had its first real month. Nine downloads and one purchase at $7.99. It launched in February but barely had time to register. March is a better read of where it starts.

Four new apps shipped as part of the Tuesday challenge: Just Habits, Train531, TypeSnap, and Pronoun. Train531 sold two annual plans at $34.99 each, the first yearly subscriptions any of my apps has sold. The goal was 6 apps shipped. Got 4.

Whitenoise and Ejecta were quiet. Nothing changed in either app.

April Goals

Four Tuesdays in April. The bar goes up.
