This week it is MusicWipe, which takes the background music out of a video and leaves the dialogue and the sound of the scene alone. It is live on the web and on Android. Two more apps made it onto Google Play too: Expectancy, which is brand new, and Just Habits.

MusicWipe

MusicWipe fixes a very specific problem. You have a video with a song under it, and you need the song gone: a copyright claim, a platform that mutes your upload, or just a track you do not want anymore. Muting the audio kills the dialogue. Vocal removers keep the voice but throw away the footsteps, the crowd, and the room. MusicWipe splits the soundtrack into dialogue, music, and effects, then removes only the music.
