This week it is Llaves, a web app for the moment you forget the password to a file. Choose the locked file, see what can be done for it, and decide whether to pay for a prepared copy, a saved password or a server password search attempt. A search is charged even if it finds nothing. It is live now at llaves.app.

This week it is Clean Beatz, a web app that makes a clean version of any song. Upload a track, pick how clean it should be, check the words, and download. It is live now at app.cleanbeatz.com.

How it works

Upload: Drop in an MP3, M4A, AAC, WAV or FLAC. The app separates the vocals from the music, so a clean version only touches the voice.

MusicWipe Is Live, Plus Expectancy and Just Habits on Android

Every Tuesday I ship something. This week it is MusicWipe, which takes the background music out of a video and leaves the dialogue and the sound of the scene alone. It is live on the web and on Android. Two more apps made it onto Google Play too: Expectancy, which is brand new, and Just Habits.

MusicWipe

MusicWipe fixes a very specific problem. You have a video with a song under it, and you need the song gone: a copyright claim, a platform that mutes your upload, or just a track you do not want anymore. Muting the audio kills the dialogue. Vocal removers keep the voice but throw away the footsteps, the crowd, and the room. MusicWipe splits the soundtrack into dialogue, music, and effects, then removes only the music.
